MilSpouse Friday Fill In and Fitness Friday

I'm hoping on the bandwagon. Go to Wife of a Sailor to join in!

This week’s questions are:

1.What is your spouse’s best feature?
I would say arms, but everybody that I have read has said that. So, while I do love his arms, I will go with either his eyes or his smile. He has beautiful eyes, but when he smiles... he melts a part of me everytime. Probably because he doesn't really do it that often!

2.Mild, Medium or Hot sauce?
Mild! I'm not one for hot anything, but the husband LOVES hot!

3.What is the worst uniform you had to wear for a job?
I've never really had to wear a uniform for a job, but when I worked at Walgreens we had to dress up a little. I always thought that was weird because it was a drug store!

4.You have invisible powers… where is the first place you would go?
To Afghanistan! I want to see my husband and now that he is doing ok in the circumstances that he is in.

5.What’s left on your “to do” list for this summer?
My only thing on the to-do list for summer was finish my Medical Transcription course. I did it! Now, the only thing I have left to do is to pay off our credit card! I'M ALMOST THERE!!!
Now, on to Fitness Friday! I'm sorry, I forgot who started this, but leave a comment!
I've not done well this week at all! It's just been an off week for me, but I am definitely getting back on track next week. Sometimes, it's really hard to stay on track. This has definitely been that week for me. However, I'm going to start back full force next week. I've decided that I'm just going to do 30 Day Shred by Jillian Michaels.  I am also just going to start out walking. Since I hurt my leg, I'm trying to give it a chance to heal so I don't hurt it any further.
So, that's the plan for now. I hope everyone has a great weekend. I'm heading out to Kohl's in a little while. They are having a sale this weekend, and I need a few of the things that they are having on sale! Take Care!

28 July 2010

I just wanted to send out a quick update.

I PASSED MY FINAL!!! I am so excited, and it's a very good thing. I start taking a class on Monday to start my Associate's degree. After I finish the degree, I'm hoping to go back and get a Bachelor's in Health Management or something of the sort.

It's been a pretty good week so far. I had a lot of errands to run today, but I got them all done. I've been completely slacking on my exercising and eating healthy, but I'm going to get back on it tomorrow. I can definitely tell a difference when I exercise and when I don't.

My sweet husband sent a voice note to me the other day. I love it! I can listen to him say 'I Love You' anytime that I want and he says it in my most favorite voice of his!!

I hope everyone has been having a great week so far! Take Care!

25 July 2010

Today is going to be a great day! I got to see my husband, hear my husbands voice, and we are 4 months down in this deployment!! I am truly grateful to God, my family, and my friends for helping me get through this. I wish I could share this milestone with my husband, but he doesn't like for me to tell him things like that.  I know that I can do this for the next 8 months, especially with R&R coming up soon (but hopefully not too soon!).

I took my final exam on Friday, and I'm waiting for it to get graded. I'm nervous, but I think I did ok on it. I just wish that it would hurry up and be graded! I'm hoping that my final gets graded tomorrow, so I won't have to keep worrying and wondering about it! Plus, I start another class on 2 August to go towards my Associates degree.

I have a very busy Monday coming up. I have a doctor's appointment and lots of errands to run. I have things that I need to get for my husband and for the people he works with.

I hope everyone has a great Sunday! Take care and be thankful and grateful!!

Bad Dreams And A Random Post

Nobody likes bad dreams. It bad enough to have them when my husband is home. But, to have them when he's deployed... It seems to make it worse for me. The devil is trying to get to me when I'm at my weakest point. Tonight when I say my prayers, I will ask God to protect me while I sleep.

In other news, I am almost finished with my Medical Transcription. I am just waiting on my last assignment to be graded and then I can take my final. I start another class on 2 August for my Associates Degree. I am so excited! I hope that I have it almost finished by the time that my husband gets back from this deployment. I'm not sure what's going to happen now that the MyCAA program has changed. I am going to call them today and hopefully I get some answers.

My birthday is coming up soon. I'm a little sad about it. Not because I am getting older (although I am sad about that!), but because I won't get to spend it with my husband again. This is the second year in a row that he won't be here with me.  I'm not too worried about it because we have spent every major holiday together at least once during our marriage or dating. Oh, another thing I'm not looking forward to... I'm a little older than my husband (just under 3 months) and he will remind me every single day that I am a whole year older than him!

I'm still exercising and still trying to get this jogging thing down. It's rough, but I'm doing it and I'm very proud of myself.

I hope everyone has a great rest of the week and a great weekend! This is a big weekend for this deployment!! Take care.

10 July 2010

I can't believe it... Two post in two days!! It has to be a record for me. Ok, I know I did it when I first started the blog, but things have gotten crazy!

Anyway, this morning I slept in and didn't get a workout in. Yes, it's that time of the month. I'm pretty sure both of my ovaries fell out today, but I digress. I felt terrible, but it's better now. So tonight, we did a walk/run thing. As you all know, I've wanted to start running/jogging. This is introducing me up to just plain running. We started last night, and we did the same thing tonight. We walked for 5 minutes then jogged for 1 minute and repeated that 3 times. We have a program that we are going to follow, but today was suppose to be a rest day. Since I didn't get any Jillian quality time in this morning, we did a quick walk/run tonight. It's still a good workout for the day. Tomorrow, everything will be back on track!

On a side note, I have hurt the inside of my leg between my calf and ankle. If anyone has a good stretch for that, please leave a comment! My leg and I will be forever grateful!!

I hope everyone has had a great Saturday, and has a wonderful Sunday!! Take care!

4th of July and This Week PLUS Fitness Friday!!

I know it's been a while, but 4th of July weekend was crazy and this week I've been trying to catch up.  We left Saturday morning to go to North Chicago. My brother-in-law and his family are moving up there for his job. My in-laws and I went to help them get settled in a little. It was a whirlwind trip, and Chicago is nice... BUT I could not deal with that traffic all the time. We left their house crazy early so we wouldn't hit any traffic. It was scary!

The rest of the week has been catching up on everything... sleep, school work, exercise, laundry, etc.  I have been exercising everyday with Jillian Michaels and at night walking somewhere between 20 to 40 minutes. I haven't lost any weight really, but I haven't gained any weight either. I'm drinking at least 5 big glasses of water everyday, and I am so waterlogged! But, I'm doing it for my health, for my husband and for our future children (fingers crossed!). I've also started taking a multivitamin at night before I go to bed. I feel so much better since I've started this exercise lifestyle. I still complain my way through my workout, but I'm getting it done. I feel stronger and I just feel better in general. I LOVE IT!!! I wish I would have done this 3 years ago when I first got married, but at least I'm doing it now right?!? I've been eating 3 meals with 2 snacks and I think that is helping out a lot as well.

I hope everyone has a great Friday, and a great weekend. If you are in Alabama, I hope everybody gets rain. It hasn't rained where I'm at in a while, and we desperately need it!! Take care!!

100 Days and GREAT news!!!

We are now 100 days into this deployment! I truly cannot believe how quickly time is flying by and I'm definitely not complaining about that. I know that this weekend is going to fly by. We are taking my brother-in-law and his family up to Chicago. They had to transfer for his job. I'm excited about going, but I wish we had more time to see the 'sights.' I have been working out everyday, and I have added a 30 minute walk into my fitness program. I can feel myself getting stronger and I'm starting to see definition in some places. I'm so excited to see my husband when he comes home for R&R. Anyway, back to 100 days. It's been 100 days since I've hugged my husband. He gives the best hug and it's what I'm looking forward to the most when I see him for R&R. I still can't believe it's been 100 days!

On top of 100 days, we had a GREAT thing happen!! MY HUSBAND GOT PROMOTED!!!!! After his brigade tried to take it away from him four times in the last month since he made points, he got pinned this morning for him/last night for us. I am so proud of him! He deserves it after all of the hard work he has done. The only thing I regret about it... I wasn't there to watch the ceremony. I will have to see it in pictures, and hopefully somebody got a video of it! AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

I will probably not  be posting this weekend as we will not be in town. So I hope every one has a safe, fun-filled weekend!!
