???

I know it's been a little while since I've updated. To tell the truth, some things are going on that I can't or don't want to talk about. It affects both me and my husband, and maybe one day I will tell everyone. But for now, I'm not. I'm ok, my husband is ok and my furbabies are ok.

Today, instead of a Wordless Wednesday, I'm going to blog. During the 3 years that DH and I have been married, I've gained a little weight. I guess it's easy to do with moving, unpacking, finding jobs, taking care of everything, etc. So I'm trying to lose some weight. I want to have it gone before my husband comes home for R&R. I have plenty of time for it. I want to start running, and I got running shoes for it. However, I'm not much of a runner. So, if you have any tips for me... please feel free to leave a comment! I also have some Jillian Michael's workout videos that I've been doing and Hip Hop Abs. I tend to eat more on the healthy side anyway, but I do need to increase my water intake. If I drink a coke (FYI: I'm from the South, everything is a coke, but I'm talking about Pepsi, Coke, Dr Pepper, etc), it's normally either a diet drink or it doesn't have caffeine. I think I just like the carbonation mostly! I'm hoping that by putting this out for everyone to read, I will stay more motivated to do everything!

I'm not telling my weight or where I want my weight to be, but I will tell you that I want to lose 20 pounds. I'm hoping that it will be fairly easy, but I guess we will see.

I hope everyone has been having a great week, and it continues into the weekend!! Take Care!!

Well if you really are serious, but not desperate, as far as the eating part goes...do weight watchers. I did it online only and lost 12 pounds. But then I got the portion control down and moved on to Paleo. I think the fact that I'm not doing any processed foods and just drinking water is really helping.

As for running...Couch to 5k is an excellent program. It really gets you used to running a little at a time. If you have an ipod or iphone, download the podrunner intervals. I couldn't run without it, but it works!!!

As for running, take it slow! I agree with Jenn B above -- couch to 5K has worked for several of my friends! :) Good luck!

I can totally relate with the "married" bliss weight. I'm currently working to get mine off after 5 years! For a really good running program, I'd second what Jenn B said with Couch to 5k. Just google it and you should get their website. It's a 9-week program that gets you from running nothing to 3 miles :)

I agree with Jenn - the Couch to 5K is a great way to start running!

I'm going to be trying to lose about ten pounds when DH leaves! Stuff happens, you gain weight. I actually lost 8 of these pounds recently... but then got them all back again. I dieted using Richard Simmons Food Mover. It was great!!

I'd like to start running, too, and I've heard lots of great things about Couch to 5k.

And, I know a lot of people hate it, but I've switched from soda to seltzer water. I love the carbonation, but I have no guilt when I drink it. It's literally just carbonated, flavored water. No calories at ALL...and no artificial sweeteners, either. :) Give it a try.

It's funny to read everyones comments because I just learned about the Couch to 5k yesterday! I would say if you want to start running that would be a good way. Good luck!!

LOL, I laughed about the Coke...I'm from the Midwest, so everyone calls it either Pop or Soda, depending on what part you are at! But, the coke thing, that's funny =) Good luck on the weight loss, girl!!

Firstly, I hope whatever is going on comes to a conclusion/gets better soon for you!

Secondly, I run using the "Galloway Method" and used it to run 2 half marathons now and after I have the baby I'm going to use it again to run a marathon in the next year. He has his training methods and plans online:
http://www.jeffgalloway.com/training/index.html
Many people won't even look twice at his methods because they include regular walking breaks but I cut 2:30 off my mile once I began his way! Good luck in starting running and losing weight - I'm gonna start my own rear rehab here shortly so I'll definitely look forward to reading about yours! :-)

NEw follower here. You should check out my fitness friday posts, Im hoping many of the commenters will post some good tips so we can all learn from each other. Two things for ya.

One: def drink more water! Soda is killer because of the sugar even if its diet or caff free. If you like the carbonation try fresca, they have tons of flavors and there is no sugar, carbs, calories...nothing

Two: for running....get into a rhythm. I struggle with running but the thing that has helped me most is controlling my breathing which is where the rhythm comes in. I match my breathing to my feet count in for four steps and out for four steps, or if i cant do four I do three (its okay to adjust the number just keep things even)

Eat a lot of whole real oats oatmeal. So healthy and helps burn fat like crazy. I do mine with honey to sweeten and keeps it just as healthy. Good luck! I hope everything is going okay sweetie. I'm here if you need an ear!

i can tell you that diet soda is not doing good for you...i know from experience! i drink diet sodas all day, every day.

my father in law just told me that if i must drink soda that i should drink regular soda in moderation.

i think i might try start drinking flavored seltzer water myself. i had an italian soda the other day at a pottery paiting studio and it was SO good!!! of course, the syrup isn't good for you but, again, in moderation, it could be better than diet soda!!!

good luck to you! and i'm praying for whatever it is that you aren't ready to talk about!!
