Beautiful Day

Today was a beautiful day! It was a nice 71 degrees outside, and I enjoyed it. Blue skies and sunshine and no humidity. I won't be able to say that in one week when I get back home. I'm so excited about that. One week from tomorrow, we will be driving down the interstate. I can hardly contain myself.

Today was also a 'want to pull my hair out' day. As you all know, DH is deployed. We are trying to find the cheapest way for him to call everybody back here at home. We have currently suspended his phone, but our provider says that we can reactivate his phone and pay $3.99 a minute. I was wondering what everybody else is doing that is in our situation. If you have any advice, please tell me. I would love to hear it!

I hope it was a beautiful day for everybody! TGIF tomorrow... It's suppose to be a beautiful weekend here!

What about skype? You dont even have to call laptop to laptop with skype, he could put money on his account and phone for example your cellphone for one cent a minute, its unbeatable!

Wow! $3.99 a minute is really expensive! I agree with Expat Girl - try Skype. That's what we use whenever my husband is away. I've never tried to use it calling to a cell phone but I know it works. Also Gmail has a video feature as well. I've heard that once they get to theater they are not allowed to download Skype.

Absolutely try Skype. Yahoo also has a video feature. Skype is by far my favorite thing, if he has halfway reliable internet over there. $3.99 a minute is INSANE.

Can we use Skype if he doesn't have access to the internet?

$3.99 a minute? Ouch :( Skype needs internet, but if he has internet access, I'd definitely recommend it! I pay a $2.95 monthly fee to have my Skype calls forwarded to my cell. So basically, my husband can jump on a computer, sign on to Skype and call my Skype account - and if I'm off the computer, it forwards his call to my cell.

I agree, we already use skype to keep in touch with family. With skype you get to hear AND see him for absolutely free!
