20 Weeks and MilSpouse Friday Fill-In

So, first things first... 20 weeks!!! 140 days!!! We still have a bit of time before R&R, but I can't believe it's been 20 weeks. I know, I say the same thing every week, but every week I am amazed. I think I read a quote on another blog today that said something to the effect of the days are long, but the years are short. I completely agree. At the beginning of this deployment, I could not see myself making it to a month, and now here we are at 20 weeks. I can't wait to see him! I am so ready for one of his hugs that it's not even funny!

And now on to MilSpouse Friday Fill-In

This week’s questions are:

1.What is ONE thing you’d like civilians to understand about being a military family?
That joining the military wasn't a 'last resort' for us. We didn't need the healthcare, the steady paycheck, or any of the benefits. My husband signed up because he loves his country and he wanted to serve.

2.What is your favorite mistake?
I have nothing for this one. I've been sitting here for 5 minutes trying to come up with an answer. I'm at a loss...

3.What indulgence could you give up for a year?
This is really hard! I would say getting mani's/pedi's, but I don't really get those that often. I'm definitely NOT giving up getting my hair cut or my eyebrows waxed. I guess my indulgence would be buying magazines. I could give them up because I can go into a store and read them, or I can find the article somewhere online. I still love my magazines!

4.If you could be a winged animal, what would you be?
I would be a bird. It doesn't matter what kind as long as it's pretty!

5.What is one question you’d like to see asked in a future MFF?
Again, at a loss. I have no idea.
Head over to Wife of a Sailor to join in on the fun!!!
I hope everyone has a great weekend! Take Care!!

Just think, 6 more weeks and you'll be halfway! Awesome! Than it's all downhill from there, girlie. I agree with your answer to #1. My husband went to college for a semester prior to enlisting. He loves what he does and wouldn't change his decision if he went back. He loves serving his country. What's your donut of misery at now?!

I liked your answer to number 1. Not everyone is that dedicated or unselfish!

Excellent post - from one military wife to another! We have always chosen as a family to count down the days, rather than months (or years) that we are apart. That way, each and every day feels like some form of progress! :)
